为什么要学习英语？Why we should learn English？〖双语〗

First of all, learning English gives people more options.

For example, if you want to study or work abroad, learning English is essential. There is no doubt that you have more options if you reach a certain level of English than if you have no basic knowledge.

Moreover, learning English broadens our access to knowledge and information.
According to Wikipedia, more than 55% of the world's websites, 60% of radio programs and 80% of information on the Internet are in English, the vast majority of international conferences use English as the first common language, and English is one of the official working languages of the United Nations. For students, no matter what your major is always, you will find original literature in English for your reference.

Finally, English is a bridge to another world.
A language is more than just a language, it represents a culture, an idea and another world. If you have the experience of learning a skill, you know that the moment you acquire it, the whole world changes for you.
For example, if you can eventually become proficient/ per fei xin ti/ in a foreign language, there is an additional door to the world you originally live in, and across that door is another world where you can go and appreciate the literature, the ideas and many beautiful things of the world.

其次，学习英语拓宽了我们获取知识与信息的途径。
据维基百科统计，全世界55%以上的网站以英语为载体，60%的广播节目是用英语进行的，75％的电视节目是英语，互联网上多达80%的信息都是英文，绝大部分国际会议以英语为第一通用语言，英语还是联合国的正式工作语言之一。对于学生而言，不管你总是什么专业，总会找到英文原版的文献供你参考。

最后，英语是通往另一个世界的桥梁。
一门语言不仅仅是一门语言，它代表的是一种文化，一种思想和另一个世界。如果你曾经有过学习某种技能的经历，就知道在习得的那一瞬间，整个世界都会为之改变。
比如，你最终可以熟练使用一门外语，你原本生存的世界就多了一扇门，跨过那个门槛就是另外一个世界，你可以去欣赏那个世界的文艺作品，思想观念和很多美丽的东西。
